Utterz Insomniacs Club

So from the looks of it, there are several of us Utterers here on the east coast who either are early risers, or just wake up and can't get back to sleep. For me its the latter - which are you? (Note, this is not a video, because no one wants to see me at 5:30AM)

Chris Brogan Joins Utterz Board of Advisors

We're super pleased to announce that Chris Brogan has formally joined our Board of Advisors. We have a ton of respect for Chris and his influence is already showing in the Utterz product.

For anyone who isn't familiar with Chris, he's a highly respected pioneer and leader in social media, and has been an outspoken advocate of how blogging, podcasting and videocasting can effectively connect people together for personal, business, collaboration, and networking purposes. He speaks frequently at conferences and publishes the ChrisBrogan.com blog. He is also a cofounder of the PodCamp unconference series, has worked with several new media startups and has over 16 years of telecommunications experience in wireless and landline technologies. He's also a frequent contributor to utterz and early in our beta provided some of his "to-the-point" guidance on tips for good utterz: http://www.utterz.com/…MQ/utt.php

Here's what Chris said recently about Utterz: "I've always been drawn to new technologies that can dramatically enhance communications and conversations. Utterz does just that by letting anyone communicate in whatever form they want, whenever they want, as easily as picking up their mobile phone. I'm looking forward to working with the team at Utterz to realize the huge potential of their service."

We are too, Chris! Welcome aboard!

Castro Resigns - Will it change US-Cuba dynamic?

Will this thaw the deep freeze of US-Cuban relationships over the past 50 years, or will Castro's brother continue to keep things tense? Will the Bush Administration take the opportunity to reach out and build a bridge or engage in continued rhetoric? I'm interested in your thoughts.

Fun with Vista, XP and Printers

So silly me to think my Vista laptop would mesh with my XP desktop..in trying (for several hours) to get my laptop to print to a shared printer connected to my XP desktop, all I could get was "Access Denied - can connect to printer". So after looking in Windows and MS help (no value) I went out on the internet in search of a solution, and finally found one - and oh by the way, a really simple one, that anyone who tried to apply logic would never come up with. Anyway, if you have a vista computer and can't connect to a networked printer, here is the hint:

Add it as a local printer, but select "new port" and type in the path of the printer. Bingo. Nothing else will work (believe me, I tried)

National Primary Results

according to CNN Election Center here are the results:

Obama won in 15 of 21 states: AL, AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, MN, MO, ND, UT

Clinton won in 6 states: AR, MA, NJ, NY, OK, TN

New Mexico is still to close to call.

However, since the Democrats split delegates, Clinton has more delegates: 825 to Obama's 732

In the Republican Race:

McCain won 9 states: AZ, CA, CT, DE, IL, MO, NY, OK

Romney won 7 states: AK, CO, MA, MN, MT, ND, UT

Huckabee won 5 states: AL, AR, GA, TN, WV

McCain has a big lead in delegates: 615 to Romney's 268 and Huckabee's 169

Good turn out tonight at MA polls

Much busier tonight than this morning

A record voter turnout in MA?

so the State election committees in MA are predicting a record turnout today. But as you can see in this picture, where you might normally see scores of volunteers holding signs for their candidates, NONE today, and not a lot of voters. Granted, this was taken after the morning rush, and the weather is poor, which could have a dampening impact (sorry) but still the quiet around the polls is surprising.

Is there really a primary tomorrow in Mass?

You'd never know it. There's less campaigning going on here than for a school board vote.
